Danish Meatballs

Classic danish meatballs are a hit with both big and small. Enjoy the meatballs with brown sauce, pickles and boiled potatoes, or use them in a meatball sandwich or on top of rye bread with a spoonful of warm red cabbage. They also taste great as a filling in pita bread with a good dressing and salad. Yes, the possibilities are almost endless when it comes to meatballs.

6 servings

Ingredients

2 onions

800 g ground pork or veal/bacon

2 eggs

3 tbsp. oatmeal

2 tbsp. wheat flour

1.5 dl milk

2 tsp. salt

1 pinch black pepper

Butter and oil for frying

Instructions

Peel and grate or finely chop the onions. Place them in a bowl with ground meat, eggs, oatmeal, wheat flour, milk, salt and pepper, and stir the mixture well. This can advantageously be done with a mixer.

Shape the mixture into meatballs, and fry them in generous amounts of butter and oil in a pan until they are golden and cooked through.
